On January 7, 2020, Daisy claimed that Finding Momoland was rigged. In an interview with Daisy and her mother, published by KBS, Daisy stated that after she got eliminated in the show, the agency had contacted her and asked to meet her the next day. At the meeting, she said she was told that although she was eliminated, she would be joining the group after promotions. Daisy also spoke of how she had debt close to 70 million won, equivalent to $60,000 U.S. dollars, due to production costs for the show. On the same day, MLD Entertainment responded by releasing a statement that states there was no manipulation of votes or other fraudulent actions regarding the show. Refuting Daisy's claim, they stated that the CEO of the agency saw her potential and recommended she stay as a trainee under their agency. In response to the payment of production costs, they mentioned that it was included in the contract which was agreed on by the parents and members of the group. They ended the statement by saying that they have prepared documents of proof to counter Daisy's claim and will take legal action.
