Introduction to AOA Black

AOA Black (에이오에이블랙) was a sub-unit for the South Korean girl group, AOA (에이오에이) under FNC Entertainment. AOA Black consisted of 5 members such as: Mina, Youkyung, Yuna, Choa, and Jimin.

AOA Black debuted on July 11th, 2013 with their single album, "Moya".

The group made their first comeback appearance on October 10th, of KM's Music Triangle broadcast and performed the band version of "Get Out". The band made their second appearance on October 12th at Music Bank.

On October 15th, 2016, FNC Entertainment released a statement regarding the departure of Youkyung as her contract has been terminated. However, Youkyung would remain as a guest member for future projects within the sub-unit.

On June 22nd, 2017, Choa announced that she would be leaving the group due to depression and insomnia. Her departure was officially confirmed by FNC Entertainment on June 30th, 2017.

In late April 2019, FNC Entertainment announced Mina's departure from the group as she decided to not renew nor promote in the group to pursue primarily acting.

On July 4th, 2020, Jimin left the group and FNC Entertainment due to a bullying scandal.

On January 1st, 2021, FNC Entertainment announced that Yuna's contract expired and she would be leaving the company and subsequently the group.
