Monsta X Shownu and Hyungwon Reportedly Debuting As a Sub-Unit This Summer

On May 3rd, Korean media outlets reported that MONSTA X's Shownu and Hyungwon will be debuting as a sub-unit this summer, 2023. Through this unit, Shownu and Hyungwon are expected to show the best synergy with their gorgeous visuals and strong performances.

This sub-unit is drawing more attention because it will reportedly be Shownu's first activity after returning from his mandatory military duty. Shownu, the oldest member of MONSTA X, was the first member to enlist in the military in July 2021 to serve as a social service worker and was discharged on April 21st this year.

Meanwhile, Hyungwon is considered a versatile MONSTA X member who is active in various fields, including team activities, DJing, acting, and hosting "SBS Inkigayo," which he recently joined. MONSTA X's third full-length album also proved his music production ability with his own song "Nobody Else," and participated in producing group AB6IX's song "Complicated" and Kihyun's solo songs "Bad Liar" and "Where Is This Love."

Besides this sub-unit, fans are also looking forward to MONSTA X member Joohoney who is set to make his official solo debut in May 22nd with his first mini album, "LIGHTS."
