Chae Hyungwon (채형원) is a South Korean singer,actor,model, and DJ under Starship Entertainment. He is best known as the lead dancer, vocalist, and visual of the boy group MONSTA X. Besides his musical skills and visuals, Hyungwon is also widely recognized for being a "Meme King". His reaction gifs and photos are always used in social media sites, earning love and interest from even non-kpop fans.
Before joining Monsta X, Hyung Won was a popular model. He participated in lots of fashion shows. He attended the Joy Dance - Plug In Music Academy in Seoul. In 2014, he also made many appearances as a model in fashion events, including the W Hotel and CéCi Fashion Show.
In an attempt to join Starship Entertainment's newest boy band, Hyungwon competed in the Mnet reality survival series NO.MERCY. It was verified in the most recent show that he was in the final lineup. The group, whose name is set to be MONSTA X, made their debut on May 15, 2015, with the release of the mini-album 'Trespass'.
In 2017 and 2018, Hyungwon made two consecutive appearances at the Ultra Korea electronic music event as a DJ, going under the moniker DJ H.ONE. Several further live performances and KCON Japan were attended by him in 2017. Two of the collaboration tracks he has released include Joohoney, a fellow member of MONSTA X.
He was also the lead actor in the drama “Fly Again” (2021).
On June 9, 2022, it was announced that he had renewed his contract with Starship Entertainment.
In an effort to shorten the group's separation, Hyungwon stated on October 20, 2023, via the MONSTA X fancafe that he would be joining the military on November 14. The letter was handwritten. It is anticipated that he will be released on May 13, 2025.
