NCT Dream Enjoys Success on the Korean Charts With "Smoothie"

NCT Dream has changed with their new album "Dream Escape" and title track "Smoothie".

A press conference was held at the Seoul Walker Hall on Grand Walker Hill in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul on the 25th to commemorate the release of NCT Dream's new album "Dream Escape".

"Dream Escape" is an album consisting of a total of six songs that contain messages of sympathy and comfort to young people.

The title song is "Smoothie," which wittily unravels the world's cold gaze toward me and the confident message that he will drink all of his negative feelings like a smoothie.

Even though boy groups have been unable to chart recently in the Korean charts, NCT Dream has changed it!

"Smoothie" has been steadily rising to fifth place since it's release with other songs like "icantfeelanything", "Unknown", and "Box" in the top 15 songs of Melon.

NCT Dream has returned to a different atmosphere. Mark pointed out the different atmosphere by saying, "We have been a team that gives dreams and healing since our debut, and we have done a lot of such music, but this time, we wanted to deliver such messages to friends who have no dreams and to friends who are experiencing youth."

Renjun also said, "We've shown a lot of dreams, hopes, passion, and hope, but when I think about it, I wanted to give hope to people who don't have dreams and hopes."

This change may be sudden for some fans, as it is NCT Dream, which has undergone a change with "Dream Escape." Renjun said, "It can be described as a change, but the story I've been talking about for a long time was the process of NCT Dream and fans growing together. I thought the process of continuing to grow is now, rather than making a special change at some time."

Haechan then said, "I think our fans may feel unfamiliar and sad to have this concept. But we don't set it in any genre or concept, and we want you to feel like you're good at this."

When asked why the time for change is now, he answered. Mark said, "Interestingly, we have come up with a lot of these plans and ideas since last year. At that time, we were preparing for 'ISTJ', but we talked to the company in advance and said, 'We want to produce next year's album with this idea. That's why this was possible."

The group must have been planning this for a while, and they reached out to the company to convey their feelings!

Meanwhile, NCT DREAM's new album "Dream Escape" was released on various music sites at 6 p.m. on the 25th.

The group recently held a countdown live on Weverse to reach out to fans and tell stories about their new album and process.
