Daisy, a former member of MOMOLAND, shares the humorous story of how she became the group’s rapper.

Recently, Daisy, a former member of MOMOLAND, shared a story on how she got to be the group’s rapper. A random netizen commented, “Did you wanna rap or sing? Honest question. I understand idol life is different for yall.” She answered the question through a TikTok video of her filming a get-ready-with-me. Watch the full video on her TikTok (@daisiesforyu).

She started her story time by saying she had never once walked into an audition with a rap and would typically just do singing and dancing.

Daisy says, “When you’re a trainee, that’s another word for being unemployed. And when you’re unemployed, you’re very desperate. And desperate times come for desperate measures.”

She then said that she was scarring her brain, anything she knew how to do. That’s when she unveiled her secret talent and remembered what happened in 2010 to use it to stand out as a trainee.

“And that took me back all the way to the year 2010, which just so happened to be the year of the worldwide cultural phenomenon of tweens all over the world memorizing Nicki Minaj’s ‘Super Bass’ word for word as if it was going to be in the SATs. And I just happened to be the president of the Korean branch.” she funnily says in the video.

The former idol then says she impressed with the iconic first lines of the song’s lyrics, emphasizing that those clueless 40-year-olds were blown away. “From that day on, I was a rapper. Shout out to me in the sixth grade.”

Moreover, she states that she had thought about what she had done because she wanted to sing more. Daisy added that she learned to accept it during her short-lived career. She also said that she finds it funny when she gets comments on how someone liked them as a rapper. “I laugh so hard at the comments so hard because what are you talking about? Did you listen to my part on mute?”

Then, she ends the video by jokingly saying, “Hope you enjoyed my tutorial on how to become a K-pop rapper. Although, I don’t think this method would slide on today’s climate.”

Daisy officially departed from MOMOLAND on May 13, 2020.
