"The News I Wanted to Hear" Koreans React to Ahyeon's Return to BABYMONSTER

The group BabyMonster is ready to fly higher with the identity of the all-rounder group, which has become more solid with Ahyeon's return.

Baby Monster, which debuted in November last year, is a new girl group introduced by YG Entertainment seven years after BLACKPINK, drawing keen attention at home and abroad.

The seven trainees, who were unveiled through a reality show featuring their debut process last year, drew attention by boasting their powerful vocals, rap, performance, visuals, and skills that are not missed even at a young age. After confirming their seven-member debut with the support of global fans, Baby Monster began preparing to take its first step into the music industry.

Ahead of its debut, however, it was reported that Ahyeon, a member of the group, decided to take rest for a while due to health reasons, and could not join the group. As a result, Baby Monster debuted as a six-member team excluding Ahyun.

At the time of the evaluation, Ahyeon was called "Little Jennie" and was considered the most promising debut member as she received early attention as an all-rounder with explosive singing and rapping skills despite her young age. Fans were disappointed by Ahyeon's failure to make her debut, which had been highly anticipated.

Nevertheless, Baby Monster, who finally took off the veil, showed off their solid skills and more mature appearance as a monster rookie. Baby Monster released their debut song "BATTER UP" and performed well on domestic and international charts, and the music video broke the record of breaking the record for the shortest period of K-pop debut songs until 50 million views (4th) and 100 million views (18th) in a row.

As soon as the new year came, Baby Monster, which successfully wrapped up 2023, announced the release of its first mini album in April along with the release of its new single in February, heralding its active activities from the beginning of the year.

On the 25th, YG Entertainment excited fans by announcing the news of Ahyeon's return. "Fortunately, Ahyeon has completely recovered her health, and she is back at YG from today and recording songs for the album," said Yang Hyun-seok, executive producer.

According to YG, Ahyeon will start her career with the first mini album of Baby Monster, which will be released in April, and "BATTER UP" and "Stuck In The Middle" will be included in the album re-recorded with the seven members.

Expectations are high on how BabyMonster, which started the main game in 2024, will resonate in the music industry this year.
