On April 22nd, NCT's Doyoung made his official solo debut with his first studio album "YOUTH," together with the music video for the title track "Little Light."
The singer-actor describes "YOUTH" as an album that captures the different emotions of people in their 20s and their experience of growing up. Doyoung explained, "This album represents my youth. For me, my youth is characterized by the memories of touring around the world for concerts with my bandmates. I believe those memories helped me make this album."
Meanwhile, the title track, "Little Light," is an inspiring song that fuses together an energetic band sound and Doyoung's delicate yet powerful vocals. Regarding the song being selected as the title track, he said, "This may differ from what you've expected, but as a person who has loved band music since I was young, I don't find this choice unusual at all and rather it feels natural."
The NCT member further shared that he was a member of a band in high school, and that this solo album marks his first time presenting the music that he truly wants to do. Moreover, although there are various restrictions when it comes to live band performances on music shows, Doyoung is determined to think of ways on how he could perform the song live on TV.
