"Finally A New SM Boy Group" Koreans React to the News that SM Entertainment Will Debut A New Boy Group

The debut of SM Entertainment (hereinafter referred to as SM)'s new rookie boy group is imminent.

According to a report by Sports Chosun, SM rookie boy group is preparing for its debut in September. They are currently filming a music video for his debut song in Los Angeles (LA).

The members include former NCT members Sungchan, Shotaro, and SM Rookies, Eunseok and Seunghan.

Sungchan, Shotaro, Eunseok, and Seunghan have already received a great response from fans by performing "Outro: Dream Routine" at SM Town concerts held at Suwon World Cup Stadium and Tokyo Dome in Japan last year. At that time, it was unbelievable that it was before the official debut, and the performance was overwhelmingly outstanding. This is why they are known as "large K-pop rising stars" among K-pop fans early on.

Above all, attention is high in that it is a rookie boy group that SM puts its heart and soul into. It is the first time in about seven years that SM has launched a new boy group since 2016. NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream in 2016, WayV in 2019, and a new NCT team will debut this year, but all of these groups are members of NCT.

As a result, it has been a long time since SM introduced a new boy group other than NCT, so it stimulates the curiosity of K-pop fans around the world. In addition, public expectations are high. SM rookie boy groups, which are coming out with a lot of attention, will open the era of "5th generation K-pop idols" in earnest, and will be active at the center.

In particular, the rookie boy group is already considered to be the all-time "monster rookie" as SM's inner work and know-how, which is the representative agency of K-pop and laid the foundation for the current global K-pop. It is expected to continue the genealogy of SM's boy groups such as H.O.T., Shinhwa, Fly to Sky, TVXQ, Super Junior, SHINee, EXO, and NCT.

Earlier, SM's CEO Jang Chul-hyuk also announced his plan for "SM 3.0: NEW IP 2023" in May, signaling the debut of a new male group within the year. At the time, CEO Jang said, "We are doing our best to prepare good music and content for all SM artists' activities scheduled for this year, so please continue to look forward to it and support us."
