On February 24th, SM Entertainment released a video where they talked about their plans for their artists as they enter the era of SM 3.0.

For NCT, the CEOs of SM Entertainment announced, "With the debut of NCT Tokyo (tentative name) in 2023, NCT's infinite expansion is scheduled to end. We are officially announcing that there will be no more member changes, and we will support the existing members as much as possible so that they can engage in much more diverse activities."

NCT debuted in 2016 with the concept of having infinite members and explanding sub-units in different cities around the world.
