Taeyeon Releases "Dream" OST for "Welcome to Samdal-ri" Drama

Taeyeon, a member of the group Girls' Generation and a solo singer, participated in the OST of JTBC's weekend drama "Welcome to Samdal-ri."

According to OST production company Most Content on the 17th, the OST "Dream" of "Welcome to Samdal-ri" sung by Taeyeon was released on the music site at 6 p.m. on the same day.

Set in Jeju Island, the story revolves around two childhood friends, Jo Yong-pil (Ji Chang-wook) and Jo Sam-dal (Shin Hye-sun). After losing his mother to a mistaken weather report, Yong-pil decides to become a weather forecaster to protect the elders of his hometown. However, his passion and refusal to let misinformation slide earns him a reputation as a stubborn troublemaker. On the other hand, Sam-dal moves to Seoul to pursue her dreams of becoming a successful fashion photographer, and goes by the name of Jo Eun-hye. However, when her life suddenly falls apart, she returns to her hometown, where she reconnects with Yong-pil. Despite an incident that drove them apart, the two friends find their affection for each other is still as strong as ever.

It has been reinterpreted as a rhythmic band arrangement with a bright medium tempo so that the beautiful lyrics and melody of the original song can stand out. It is harmonized with Taeyeon's clear and powerful vocals to enhance the sensitivity of the drama. In particular, "Dream" has been enhanced by collaboration between Lee Ju-hyung, a composer of Monotree who is in charge of producing various artists and has worked on many hit songs, and Kwon Ji-yoon, a singer-songwriter. As it is a masterpiece of King Cho Yong-pil, the drama will bring back memories of the hometown, giving a strong impression to the drama.

Meanwhile, Taeyeon has recently demonstrated her potential as a music powerhouse known as "Trust and Listen" Taeyeon. She ranked No. 1 in 21 regions worldwide on the iTunes Top Album Chart of Taeyeon's fifth mini album "Two X," which was released on July 27. She also topped iTunes Worldwide Albums Chart, China's largest music platform QQ Music Digital Albums Sales Chart, Kugou Music Digital Albums Chart, and Korea Albums Charts Charts.
