On July 18th, fashion magazine 'ELLE' released the cover photo of SEVENTEEN's Wonwoo for their August issue, along with a sneak peek of his pictorial and interview.
The full interview and all of his photos were released on ELLE's website on August 3rd. The feature article was titled, "Wonwoo, born in the most lush season of the year, stood in the middle of summer." The article contained over 20 interview questions, all of which Wonwoo answered with grace and detail.
In the interview, the focus was mainly on Wonwoo's emotions, 'FML' promotion, SEVENTEEN, his recent schedules, and memorable moments from the previous year, such as his cover of "Knee" by IU and the 'Be The Sun World Tour.'
Q: For today's shoot, we tried to capture the image of Wonwoo between a boy and a young man. How close do you feel to the boundary between a boy and a man?
A: I used to think I was 'manly', right? I've heard a lot of stories from people around me saying, 'You have a masculine charm, and you hold the center,' but these days I feel like I'm becoming a boy. Is it because my personality has become brighter?
Q: It's been 9 years since your debut. The old albums that were out of print recently were also re-released. Is there a moment for Wonwoo think about SEVENTEEN's experience?
A: When I hear these stories, I feel like I've been doing a lot of things for a long time. The people who came to like us a little late seem to be happy with the news of the re-release, so I'm very proud. I've been monitoring the fans' reactions since I started playing games on my solo live.
Q: On July 17, Wonwoo's birthday is coming up. What kind of person do you want to be?
A: I want to be a free person. And I want to be an upright person. Like a tree with deep roots in one place.
