On November 25th, Beijing's Chaoyang District People's Court announced the verdict of Wu Yifan (Kris Wu) and sentenced him to 13 years in prison for sexual assault.
The court said, "On the morning of November 25th, 2022, the People's Court in Chaoyang-gu, Beijing, publicly sentenced the first trial's ruling on the rape and adultery of the Defendant Wu Yifan. The defense, Wu Yifan, is sentenced to 13 years in prison and deported for various crimes, including rape and adultery."
According to the court, Wu Yifan forcibly had sex with three drunken women at his home from November to December 2020.
Officials from the Canadian Embassy in China also attended the sentencing and watched the trial of Canadian national Wu Yifan.
Wu Yifan debuted as an EXO member in 2012, filed a lawsuit in 2014, withdrew, and left for China to promote as a soloist. Earlier this year, Wu Yifan has been arrested after it was revealed that he drank alcohol and sexually assaulted underage women in China.
