Jeon Somi Shows Off Taekwondo Skills on CNN

Singer Jeon Somi is promoting Korean culture to everyone around the world!



Somi has done taekwondo since she was very little, and she has showcased her skills in both "Sixteen" and "Produce 101" predebut.



Somi introduced Korean culture that inspires music on CNN's "Spirit of Seoul" on Sunday (local time). She demonstrated that she is a four-tier Taekwondo holder. "Taekwondo has a very important meaning to me," she said. "It is a sport that helped me build my personality."

Jeon Somi personally writes her own music, so she must draw inspiration from her own life and tries to connect with fans directly.

She also revealed her work with producer Vince at the recording studio. "Music expresses a part of me," she said. "I naturally exchange ideas in the studio to complete music." Afterwards, she enjoyed the nature while drinking traditional tea at a cafe in Hanok with her family. She stressed that life in Seoul, a combination of the past and modern times, inspires her. "Korean traditions, food, and unique cultural heritages such as Taekwondo has made me who I am," she said, drawing attention.

At only 23 years old, and with a Korean mother and a Canadian father, Jeon Somi has experienced a life that combines many different aspects and cultures, but she always tries different things and doesn't unfamiliarity stop her.
