On March 18th, SM Entertainment announced that Taeyong (28) will be fullfilling his mandatory military service by enlisting in the Navy on April 15th, The agency also informed fans that there will be no official event on the day Taeyong enters the training camp.
SM Entertainment said, "There will be no separate official event held on the day of admission to the recruit training center, and we ask for your understanding that admission will be held privately to prevent safety accidents due to on-site congestion. We ask for your continued love and support until the day Taeyong faithfully performs his national defense duties and returns in good health."
This makes Taeyeong the first NCT member to enlist in the military. Meanwhile, fellow member Taeil (29) is also expected to enlist within this year.
Taeyong recently made his solo comeback last month with his second mini album, "TAP." He also recently held his first solo concert at the Olympic Hall in Seoul Olympic, spending precious with fans right before his enlistment.
