On January 5th, Belift Lab announced the departure of Youngseo from the highly-awaited girl group I'LL-LIT, who is gearing up to make their official debut in 2024. The agency briefly said through WEVERSE, "Following in-depth discussions about future activities, Belift Lab and Youngseo have come to a mutual agreement to terminate the exclusive contract. This mutual decision has been made after careful consideration, honoring the artist’s wishes. We kindly ask for no unwarranted speculations or misunderstandings. We wish nothing but the best for Youngseo’s future endeavors.
The agency ended the announcement by saying, "I’LL-IT will be debuting as a five-member group. We are committed to fully supporting I’LL-IT’s debut and subsequent engagements."
Youngseo's departure comes as a shock to fans since she was one of the crowd-favorites and frontrunners of "R.U Next," the survival show that formed the girl group.
Meanwhile, I'LL-LIT, Belift Lab's second group since ENHYPEN, is scheduled to debut as a five-member girl group in 2024.
