Gyubin Returns With a 'Special' Gift to Fans In Collaboration With Nell's Kim Jong Wan

Representing the fifth generation of Kpop female solo artists, all-rounder rookie Gyubin returns with a brand new single.

On April 25th, Gyubin released the digital single "Special," in collaboration with Nell's Kim Jong Wan. This marks the third and final chapter of the collaboration trilogy project of Gyubin that started with "Scribble" in collaboration with Wonstein, and "Start to Shine" with Gaeko of Dynamic Duo.

"Special" is produced by Kim Jong Wan, the vocalist of award-winning South Korean band Nell. It features a unique blend of his distinctive sentiment and the clear voice of the 17-year-old Gyubin, delivering the consoling message "No matter what anyone says, you are special."

The song starts with a dreamy medium tempo guitar riff that gradually fills with the band’s sound. Listeners can feel the deep emotion of Nell, while Gyubin’s clear and delicate vocals, convey a firmness that powerfully delivers the message of the song. Additionally, the synths painting a night sky filled with stars and the dramatic string arrangement in the bridge intertwines with the lyrics to offer solace, support, and inspiration to all the youth enduring loneliness while awaiting their moment to soar.

"Ultimately, 'Special' sings about hope. I hope this song becomes a great strength to all those in their own difficult moments," said Kim Jong Wan.

Gyubin also expressed,"I hope my small hands stretched weakly, and my mild consolation could be delivered. If this 3-minute song could become a tiny wing to your day, it would be a meaningful start to the songs that I will be singing for the next 50 years.
