Discussions for Possible Extension of Kep1er Group Activites Underway

It was earlier reported the Kep1er will disband in July as planned. However, company officials are now saying that they are discussing an extension of musical activities with the members and their agencies.

On Thursday, a company official said, "We are currently having discussions with the members and their agencies over the extension of Kep1er's musical activities."

"Kep1er is currently gearing up for a new album," the official also said. "So, please support the band."

Kep1er is a project girl band that was formed in the audition show ‘Girls Planet 999’. The group’s contract lasts only two and a half years. However, since they are one of the most in-demand girl idol groups today, there is a growing call for contract renewal.

Despite the above statements, it is still unclear whether Kep1er members can and will continue their journey as a group after their contract ends in July. Most project groups, including I.O.I, Wanna One, and IZ*ONE did not extend their contracts as reaching an agreement between different agencies can be difficult.

Kep1er is scheduled to release their first full-length album ‘Kep1going’ in Japan on May 8 with a title track ‘Straight Line’.
