Sonnet

Introduction

Sonnet (소넷), born Son Seungyeon (손승연), is a South Korean singer-songwriter and musical actress. She won the first season of Mnet's survival show "The Voice of Korea" on May 11, 2012 and made her solo debut on October 23, 2012 with her mini album "미운 오리의 날개 짓".

She won 9 times on KBS "Immortal Songs 2" between 2014 and 2020.

She also won 8 consecutive times as The East Invincibility (동방불패) on MBC's "King of Mask Singer" in 2018. She is tied with Yang Yoseop (of Highlight) for having the second-longest winning streak out of all the contestants that have ever been on the show.

She finished in second place as Memory (메모리) on MBN's survival show "Avatar Singer" in 2022.

For musicals in Korea, she has been cast as Rachel Marron in "The Bodyguard" (2016/2017), Elphaba Thropp in "Wicked" (2021), Catherine of Aragon in "Six the Musical" (2023), and Felicia Farrell in "Memphis" (2023).
