On October 25, 2018, Park Sung Won was introduced as a contestant of Under Nineteen with his moving poster. The poster revealed that he was a part of the rap team. He finished in seventh place, thus becoming a member of the project group 1THE9.
On December 10, 2012, it was revealed that Sungwon is a trainee under Rain Company and is set to debut as the maknae of the boy group CiiPHER. He will be using the stage name "Won"
