Kang Daniel (강다니엘) is a South Korean singer and actor under his self-established agency KONNECT Entertainment. He is best known for competing in the show 'Produce 101 Season 2" where he finished first place, securing his spot in the project boy group Wanna One.
He made his official debut with Wanna One on August 7, 2017 with their first mini album 1X1=1 (To Be One). After two years of successful promotions, the group eventually disbanded on January 27, 2019.
A few days after Wanna One's disbandment, it was reported that Daniel would move to LM Entertainment. However, on March 21, he submitted an application to suspend his exclusive contract with LM. His legal representative revealed that LM Entertainment signed joint business contracts that sold the exclusive contract rights to third parties without his prior consent. On May 10, the Seoul Central District Court ruled in favor of Daniel, allowing the suspension of his contract and his pursuit of individual activities as a celebrity without any interference from the company. Following that, on June 10, the singer was reported to have established his own agency Konnect Entertainment for his future activities.
Kang Daniel soon made his highly-anticipated solo debut on July 25, 2019 with the EP "Color on Me."
Besides singing, Daniel also started to pursue acting activities. He made his acting debut on January 2022 through the Disney+ Korean drama "Rookie Cops."
