Chaeryeong (채령) is a South Korean singer and dancer under JYP Entertainment. She made her official debut on February 12, 2019 as the main dancer and vocalist of the girl group ITZY.
Before making her debut, Chaeryeong, along with her older sister Chaeyeon, appeared as a contestant on the reality television competition show K-pop Star 3 on November 24, 2013. Despite getting eliminated, both sisters were able to become JYP Entertainment trainees after the show. A year later, as official trainees, both sisters then competed on the girl group survival show SIXTEEN—the same show where TWICE was created. However, Chaeryeong was eliminated on the final episode. Following the show's conclusion, Chaeryeong continued to train under the agency.
On January 20, 2019, four years after her appearance in SIXTEEN, Chaeryeong was revealed to be a member of the girl group ITZY. She made her solo debut with "Mine" on the 25th of December 2023 in the album 'BORN TO BE'.
