SM Entertainment Now Announces the Filming of EXO's MV Will Proceed As Planned With All 7 Members

Amid a dispute over exclusive contracts between boy group EXO members Baekhyun, Xiumin, and Chen (hereinafter referred to as CBX) and their agency SM Entertainment (hereinafter referred to as SM), the music video for EXO's new song will proceed as scheduled.

According to SM on the 1st, EXO members plan to shoot a new music video scheduled for the 2nd. On the same day, CBX notified SM of the termination of the exclusive contract, but an SM official told Star News that all seven members, including CBX, will attend, saying, "We will proceed with the music video of the new song as scheduled." In other words, they expressed their willingness to push ahead with EXO's comeback schedule without a hitch.

EXO announced a full comeback this year to mark the 11th anniversary of its debut. However, due to the sudden news of member Kai's military substitution service, the entire group's activities were canceled. The members showed off their strong friendship by releasing photos gathered in one place when Kai entered the training center on the 11th. First of all, SM has been preparing for EXO's comeback with a seven-member system excluding Kai.

However, CBX notified SM of the termination of the exclusive contract on the same day due to unclear settlement problems, raising doubts about EXO's full activities in the future.

"SM maintained an unfair position that it could not provide a copy of transparent settlement data and settlement grounds," CBX said through lawyer Lin Jae-hak, who acted as a legal representative, adding, "SM has repeatedly claimed a long-term contract of at least 17 or 18 years."

In response, SM said, "External forces that shake their artists are being identified," adding, "Our artists are being misled with false judgments, violating exclusive contracts, or enticing double contracts."

Earlier today, there were reports that the MV filming was canceled, then postponed and now SM released a new statement that they will continue with the original plans.
